County Match Week Summary

County match week at Ganton Golf Club saw some excellent golf played in very mixed weather.  The last day, Friday, we had rain, wind, sun, thunder and lightning with play being stopped, but after a short break all matches were completed. Congratulation must go to Lancashire they came 1st. Unfortunately Durham was 6th.  I must congratulate  our team on the spirit in which they played their games they must be commended on the effort and commitment they gave.  I could not have asked for more.  Lesley Jennings got the Atkins trophy scoring 4 of our 10.5 points.  It was the first County Week for 3 juniors: Laura Alexander, Stephanie Peareth and Rebecca Woolley, they all won matches, scored points and gained valuable experience for future years.

I would like to say thank you to the Durham County members and trolley pullers who travelled to Ganton to support our team it was very much appreciated.
