Latest Junior successes
In addition to County Week the Durham Junior Girls have also taken part in several other events over the past two months.
Pleasington Putter on July 1st
Congratulations to one of our juniors Laura Alexander (Durham County Player) who played in the Pleasington Putter on July 1st at Pleasington Golf Club.
She won the 2nd Best Nett 147 (80-5:75 + 77-5:72)
CSS was 77 (Round 1) and 75 (Round 2)
Inter County Mixed (DCJGS event) May 27th Winner Aimmee Goodlad and Thomas Harboard (81-15-66)
“Aimee & Thomas were the most inexperienced team in the competition, competing against some of the best junior golfers in County Durham Playing off a combined handicap of 15 Aimee & Thomas scored a magnificent 81 net 66 to win this most prestigious event, which has been played for since 1970, by five shots. Aimee has only played the game for 18 months & has reduced her handicap from an initial 36 to the 17 handicap she plays off now. She is coached by Steve Carpenter & Pat Smilley at Headlam Hall through the Durham County Ladies coaching scheme & I am sure her progression within the game will continue” Report from Castle Eden Junior Organiser
DCJGS Team Event June 9th– Rebecca Woolley (Durham County Player) and Shauna Holmes played in the Durham Golf Club Team which came 2nd at Houghton – le- Spring (210 points)

Tiger Cub Tour - Regional Qualifying Round 3rd June
Alexandra Stevenson [Beamish Park], the only girl who entered in the event, returned a creditable 84 gross off a handicap of thirteen on both rounds, to claim fourth spot
Schools Northern Championship – this event was played at Leeds in weather conditions that almost closed the course and meant the event had to be decided on one round instead of two. Two girls from Durham took part Rebecca Woolley (Durham County Player) and Katie Milne (Beamish)
